Over the peak summer season, a key part of our business is our kayak and paddleboard hire from Goodrington South Sands Beach. Reach Outdoors are now recruiting for a Beach & Watersports Hire Supervisor to join our team for the 2022 season. The role requires great customer service, flexibility and some management responsibilities. Day-to-day, you’ll be running the watersports hire operations including safety cover, liaising with our core staff and overseeing our Watersports Hire Assistants on the beach. With this year being our 10th Anniversary of Reach Outdoors, we are expecting this to be our biggest and best summer yet! 

Role: Beach & Watersports Hire Supervisor 

Hours: Zero hours and weather dependent. Light winds mean that we will be open, likely to be between 25-45 hours a week.  

Term: May – October 

Pay: £10.75 per hour. Usual in work benefits

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee the Reach Outdoors Watersports Hire Operations at Goodrington South Sands Beach.  

• Work with Reach Outdoors core staff on all aspects of the Watersports Hire Operations. 

• Day-to-day management of the Watersports Hire Assistants (approx 2-4 on a given day)  

• Ensure that all aspects of health and safety of the watersports hire operation are adhered to at all times 

• Provide an exceptionally high level of customer service to all that use Reach Outdoors Services. 

• Cash up takings and create invoices accordingly.  

• Provide safety cover for the Goodrington watersports hire operation. 

• Prepare any relevant reports in relation to accident or incident. 

• Ensure that all Watersports hire equipment and associated PPE is cleaned and maintained to a high standard and is left secure 

• Opening up and locking up of the Watersports hire hut. 

• Provide informal local information to visitors to Goodrington Sands. 

Essential: 

• Aged 18 years or over

• Experience of watersports operation 

• First Aid at Work Certificate (minimum 2 day) 

• Management & Customer Service experience 

• Ability for flexible working, including weekends 

Desirable: 

• RYA Powerboat Level 2 

• Safety Boat Experience 

• British Canoeing Safety & Rescue Awards 

• VHF License 

• RLSS Beach Lifeguard Qualification 

• Kayak or Paddleboard Leadership or Coaching Awards
