Reach Outdoors' summer is booming...
25 July 2013 by Ashley Hone
Sorry to any of our followers for our lack of updates on what we have been up to recently; we have been incredibly busy!
We are really proud that the business has taken off and we have had bookings filling practically every day of our June, and July and August is getting that way rapidly.
So an overview on what we have been up to:
The successful delivery of a Duke of Edinburgh Silver training, practice and assessed expedition in Dartmoor. The weather was stunning for the group, and despite a multitude of hills and a few minor navigational errors on the practice resulting in even more hills they all passed their Expedition element of their award. A huge well done to each of these participants.
On the Duke of Edinburgh side, a successful and also very warm Gold walking expedition took place over the wild country of Dartmoor with remote wild camps every night. The surroundings were idyllic with stunning streams, rolling hills and a multitude of wildlife which wasn’t necessarily welcomed at night time when a whole bag of lunch was craftily stolen in the night from the vestibule of a tent; that’s a learning point that will last a life time I am sure.
The extremely successful delivery of two residentials with 3 Dimensions school based in Chard and Cokethorpe school based in Witney. These were multi activity and ‘full on’, meaning by the end of them the young people were exhausted but all had an amazing time. The schools have both already informed us they definitely want to rebook for next year and possibly make the residentials even longer.
Coasteering experiences and Kayak tours seem to be a very popular option for many. We have had a whole range of clients ranging from stags, scouts, guides, families, international tourists and work team days.
Our first corporate day has also been squeezed in to this super busy few months for the Sainsburys youth forum where they had a day in blistering heat creating a raft, racing it and partaking in a wide range of problem solving challenges brining the team closer together.
We are so pleased with how well our trip advisor reviews are also reflecting the work we have been doing. To date we have 34 excellents, which in our first year of operation is outstanding.
From us all at the Reach team, thank you for your support and we look forward to hearing from you in the future to book you in and tailor a day to suit you. :-)
