It’s been something mothers have always said, “go and get some fresh air then you’ll feel better”, well there is science to back that up. Negative IONS are invisible charged particles in the air that can help us all be and feel healthier. Positive IONS (the bad ones) have lost one or more electrons whereas negative IONS (the good ones) are oxygen atoms with extra-negatively-charged electrons.

These negative healthy IONS are in abundant in the natural areas, especially around the coast and on the sea they are also widespread in mountains and forests. Whereas polluted cities, crowded areas, offices spaces, schools and cars are where the highest concentration of the unhealthy positive IONS exist, so getting away from these places for just a short while on a regular basis can have a great effect of our health and well-being.

The feeling you get when you are in an open natural area, especially near moving water or even after a thunder storm is your body feeling the benefits of negative IONS. So you can brush off the January blues by taking a short walk in the country side or along the coast, visit a beach or even a swim.
